Abstract
The macrolide fraction of Angelica root oil was analyzed and quantified by GC (coinjection) and GC/MS. ω-Alkanolides C13 (50.0%, [1]), C14 (0.5%, [5]), C15 (42.0%, [2]), C16 (trace, [6]), and C17 (3–5%, [4]) as well as 12-methyl-13-tridecanolide (4.0%, [3]) were identified. The enantiomeric composition of the latter compound with characteristic odor differences of the enantiomers was found to be 72.4 % (12R)-(+)-3 and 27.6 % (12S)-(-)-3.Keywords
