Abstract
The clinical history and physical examination remain the cornerstones for detecting peripheral arterial occlusive disease and determining its anatomic and physiologic extent. Qualitative and quantitative hemodynamic assessment with the Doppler ultrasonic velocity detector provides supplementary information. Arteriography should be reserved for preoperative evaluation. Keywords
