Abstract
In 62 children without evidence of kidney disease the mean blood urea clearance values were analyzed biometrically; their distribution corresponded to those of normal adults. In 78 children with a history of acute hematuric nephritis, the distribution and means of the urea clearance values coincided with those from the normal group. There was evidence that most of these children had no residual kidney damage due to their acute condition. In most cases of hematuric nephritis the kidney function had returned to normal within 1 mo. after cessation of the acute symptoms. The 2 types of clearance values, "max." and "standard," appeared entirely comparable. Keywords
