Abstract
The complex amplitude reflection coefficient of K(H1−xDx)2PO4, x = 0.86, is measured with E ∥ c and E ⟂ c between 15 and 360 cm1 at room temperature and between 15 and 130 cm−1 at three lower temperatures using an asymmetric Fourier spectrometer. The spectra of both ε′(ω) and ε″(ω) derived thereof are presented. For Ec the ferroelectric mode at room temperature is seen below ω ≈ 30 cm1 and can be described by a Debye formula with ωr = 1/τ  3.12 cm1. For Ec there is also a low frequency mode due to deuteron motion which can be described by an overdamped oscillator at ω0 = 22 cm1.
