Abstract
The tensor polarisabilities of the 40D and 60D states of caesium were determined by atomic beam two-photon spectroscopy. The results, alpha 2(40D52/)=155.8(3.9), alpha 2(40D32/)=84.9(4.1), alpha 2(60D52/)=3012(129) and alpha 2(60D32/)=1660(132) MHz V-2 cm2, agree well with theoretical predictions. Keywords
