A quantitative method for the determination of vitamin C

Abstract
The method depends on the determination of sub-minimal protective doses as judged by the histological appearance of the roots of the incisors of the guinea pig. With 5 animals, and with fresh orange juice as a standard, more accurate results were obtained by this method than by the usual minimum protective dose method. Fresh orange juice is a more constant standard than decitrated lemon juice.
