Abstract
The role of σBinListeria monocytogenesinfection of human intestinal epithelial cells was investigated. Invasion defects associated with loss of σBparalleled those of a ΔinlAstrain independently of the σB-dependent P2prfApromoter. Concomitantly, amounts ofinlAtranscript and InlA protein were significantly decreased in the ΔsigBstrain. Keywords
