Abstract
We have observed, for the first time in highly ionized atoms, electric quadrupole transitions between the and levels of fluorinelike and neonlike and . We have made precision measurements () of the relative wavelengths of the allowed electric dipole () transitions and the forbidden electric quadrupole () transitions connecting the and the levels. We have also derived from these measurements several intervals between states of opposite parity.
