Abstract
An Elachistid moth whose larva mines leaves of sugar-cane in Papua New Guinea is described and named Eupneusta solena gen. et sp. n. The genus is differentiated from Dicranoctetes Braun, a New World genus which contains the Cuban species D. saccharella (Busck) whose larva is also a miner in leaves of sugar-cane. Descriptions of the larva and pupa are included, and special note is made of the highly developed spiracular processes of these stages.
