Reactions of Carbonyl Sulfide and Carbon Disulfide with Rhodium Complexes

Abstract
Reaction of carbonyl sulfide with (χ5-C5H5)Rh(PPh3)2 resulted in the formation of (χ5-C5H5)Rh(χ2-COS)(PPh3) and Rh(χ2-COS)(PPh3)2. The carbonyl sulfide complex (χ5-C5H5)Rh-(χ2-COS)(PPh3) reacted with triphenylphosphine to give the carbonyl complex (χ5-C5H5)Rh(CO)(PPh3). Reactions of COS with Rh(NO)Cl3, Rh(NO)(PPh3)3 and RhCl(AsPh3)3 yielded Rh(NO)Cl22-COS), Rh(CO)(NO)(PPh3)2 and Rh(CO)Cl(AsPh3)2, respectively. Reactions of CS2 with Rh(NO)Cl3 and Rh(NO)(PPh3)3 afforded Rh(NO)Cl22-CS2) and Rh(NO)(CS)(PPh3)2, respectively.
