Hämodynamische Studien an enzephalographierten Kindern

Abstract
16 children were tested. At different intervals the blood pressure, the stroke volume and the minute volume of the heart were measured after withdrawing some cerebrospinal fluid and substituting air. Except in 4 cases, changes in the circulation and especially in blood pressure were observed and all types of disturbances were seen. Elevated blood pressure was caused by increased minute volume or by''increased peripheral resistance, while fall in the blood pressure was caused by decreased minute volume or by dilatation of the peripheral blood vessels. The changes depended on the quantity of air blown into the spinal canal.
