Abstract
Given a particular view of the aims of religious education, teachers introducing Hinduism have certain professional responsibilities both to the Hindu tradition and to their pupils. A discussion of these responsibilities leads to the suggestion of some principles which might govern the selection of topics and the choice of teaching methods suitable for an exploration of Hinduism in the classroom. Keywords
