Abstract
Byrom and Dodson reported the production of acute necrotizing renal arteritis within three days after an acute transient episode of hypertension, which had been produced by the rapid forceful injn. of Ringer''s soln. into the carotid artery. The expts. were repeated, and blood pressures during and immediately following the injns. were recorded by means of a leg cuff and a photoelectric tensometer. In no instance was there increased blood pressure associated with the injn. of fluid. Vascular lesions, when present, were always associated with foci of chronic pyelonephritis, and had an incidence directly proportional to the age of the animals in the exptl. and control groups. Primary arteritis was not observed. Keywords
