Abstract
AT the invitation of Polish colleagues and with the approval of the Polish Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, I returned to Poland for 11 days in June 1982, one year after a longer visit in 1981 and six months after the establishment of martial law. Poland was one of several countries in Europe, Asia, and Africa that I had visited during 1980–1981.I was particularly interested in revisiting Poland to follow up on recent changes, again concentrating on issues of health policy and care, manpower distribution, and education, particularly in psychiatry and primary health care.
