Abstract
To the Editor: Visual hallucinations and illusions are known to occur in classic migraine. Though olfactory hallucinations are common in complex partial seizures, relatively few cases of olfactory aura have been reported in migraine. We report one such case here.A 30-year-old woman reported unilateral, predominantly right-sided headaches localized to the parietal and temporal region and occurring weekly since childhood. The headaches were incapacitating, usually lasting approximately three days, and were accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and photophobia. There was a family history of migraine in the paternal grandmother and aunt.The headaches were almost always preceded by an odor similar . . .Keywords
