Abstract
The importance of the electromagnetic interaction currents in parity-nonconserving transitions is discussed together with the extension of the Siegert theorem to the parity-nonconserving case. The Siegert theorem is not valid beyond the static limit, and we show that besides this question of validity, it cannot be applied in the usual form if wave functions are used which are calculated through a perturbation series. Keywords
