Abstract
Methane is oxidized by air in acetonitrile solution to give methyl hydroperoxide (easily reduced to methanol), formaldehyde and formic acid in the presence of [NBu 4 ]VO 3 –pyrazine-2-carboxylic acid as the catalyst and H 2 O 2 as a promoter.Keywords
