Abstract
The argument advanced by Richard Iano has the values of encouraging special educators to consider interactions among variables and to maintain a broad perspective on research. However, it is based on inaccurate premises and weak forms of argument. For these reasons, the argument fails to serve as a compelling call for abandoning experimental research methodology. At best, it should serve as a reminder of the importance of the benefits of pluralism in research methodology.
