Abstract
Specific anti-rabbit acrosin antibodies were prepared by immunizing female guinea pigs with rabbit acrosin. Acrosin was purified by molecular sieve and proflavin-Sepharose affinity chromatography. Inhibition studies to characterize unique antigenic determinants of acrosin compared to pancreatic trypsin indicate that anti-rabbit acrosin yglobuli-115 specifically reduced the catalytic effects of acrosin but not trypsin on Azocoll. Anti-acrosin antibodies had no effect on altering the catalytic activities of either acrosin or trypsin on the substrate N-α-benzoyl-L-arginine ethyl ester.
