Abstract
[MCl2(CCl2)(CO)L2](M = Ru or Os: L = PPh3) with pyrrole forms sequentially [MCl2{CCl(C4H4N)}(CO)L2] and [[graphic omitted])(C4H4N)}(CO)L2]; the latter is protonated by HCl to the dipyrromethylidene complex [MCl2{C(C4H4N)2}(CO)L2].Keywords
