Abstract
We describe an extremely rare case of acute pancreatitis presenting as an acute abdomen that appeared as a complication of mumps vaccination in a young child. A laparotomy performed because of suspected perforated appendicitis proved unnecessary in retrospect. No similar case in infancy and early childhood has been reported to date. Keywords
