Abstract
A case of extragenital gonococcal ecthyma (a suprapubic lesion in association with gonorrheal urethritis) is presented. Gram-negative intracellular diplococci isolated from both the discharge of the lesion and the urethra proved to be Neisseria gonorrhoeae by sugar fermentation studies. Both the skin lesion and the urethritis abated promptly on two occasions following penicillin therapy. An attempt to reproduce these lesions in three patients was unsuccessful. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
