Abstract
Synopsis: A river section, located near the Eastern Red Hills of Skye, shows a glaciotcctonic structure resting upon altered dolostones. Alteration of the Cambrian dolostones along a dyke results from hydrothermal processes associated with the Tertiary regional igneous activity. The argillaceous substratum is disturbed and sheared by a moraine deposit related to a local ice advance. Incorporation of clay elements into the moraine sole is explained by powerful and abundant subglacial water pressure. Keywords
