Abstract
Seven larval stages are described. The ciliary rings develop early in ontogeny, are locomo-tory in function and provisional. The dorsal ciliary field develops slightly later and persists in the adult. The posterior constriction develops early and becomes progressively more pronounced. The late larvae show the tentacle rudiment behind which is a ventral furrow bounded by paired glandular papillae. The metasoma has 3 to 4 pairs of setae, and terminates in a sucker which is the organ of attachment for the larva after it has left the parental tube, and is retained in the adult. A variable number of toothed platelets develop early on the mesosoma and persist, and are added to, in the adult. From larval and adult structures the opinion expressed is, that the adult has a small setigerous metasoma, and that the mesosoma is long and secondarily divided into an anterior agonadal and posterior gonadal region. Keywords
