ANGIOGRAPHIC STUDIES IN CROHN’S DISEASE AND ULCERATIVE COLITIS

Abstract
Twenty-one patients with Crohn’s disease and 11 patients with ulcerative colitis were examined angiographically before operation, in some cases after an intraarterial injection of bradykinin or vasopressin. In addition, in 10 cases (9 Crohn’s disease and 1 ulcerative colitis) angiographies were performed on intestinal specimens postoperatively. The results show great angiographic similarities between the 2 diseases, and angiography thus allows no conclusive differential diagnosis.
