Abstract
The observed diffuse x- and -ray spectrum is analyzed, and consequences are deduced for Compton-scattering models in intergalactic space. The putative far-infrared radiation is examined for its effects on (1) interpretation of the diffuse x- and -ray observations, (2) Compton-scattering models in galactic and intergalactic space, and (3) the cosmic-ray electron spatial distribution in our galaxy.
