Abstract
The study comprises a retrospective assessment of 445 patients who received long-term maintenance treatment with H2-receptor antagonists. The entry criteria to the study and methods of data collection are described. The complicated nature of the data required an alternative approach to survival analysis, in addition to the intention-to-treat and efficacy methods. Life tables were constructed using the Kaplan-Meier product limit method, and survival curves were compared by means of the logrank test.
