Abstract
Describes the approach to the mathematical formula- tion of biological systems. Procedures for obtaining estimates of population size and certain parameters are outlined, and applied to catch records of fish. Two examples are given daily catch records of lobsters in 1944 in the Tignish area of Prince Edward I., and speckled trout in Montague Pond, P. E. I., 1944, 1945, 1946. A statistical model applicable to data of this sort is given in the Appendix. Keywords
