Abstract
A technique is described to construct the atomic configuration of a dislocation core in any crystal lattice. Examples of dislocation cores in primitive cubic, bcc, and diamond lattices are depicted. Problems associated with the ``dangling bond'' and the movement of a dislocation line through the lattice, or the Peierls-Nabarro force, are also discussed. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
