Abstract
Summary Similar antibody titers were detected by hemagglutination and latex-agglutination tests of sera and mucus from patients with shigellosis and from a patient infected with Salmonella enteritidis. These titers were higher than those detected by the agglutination test. Higher agglutinin titers were also observed in the Widal test with latex particles than in the routine Widal test. In contrast with the agglutination and hemagglutination tests, which can be read only after 24 hours, the latex-agglutination test offers exact readable results within 2 hours. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
