Abstract
Germination of C. paspali [causes ergot of Paspalum dilatatum] sclerotia occurred over a wide range of storage and incubation temperatures. Cold, moist storage conditions greatly enhanced germination but were not obligatory. Highest percentage germination and most rapid germination occurred after storage in moist sand at 5.degree. and 10.degree. C for 2 mo. followed by incubation at 20.degree. C for 41-44 days. Preconditioning periods at 20.degree. and 25.degree. C, incubation at 30.degree. C, and dry storage of sclerotia were not conducive to germination. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
