Abstract

The results of Makinson's treatment of the transition probability for photoelectric emission for a free-electron model has been extended to Bloch wave functions in a periodic field. The particular application of these results to the case of electrons at the top of a filled band has been developed, thereby filling in some of of the details of the preceding paper.
