Abstract
Brief details have been given of an ultrasound CT system based on linear arrays which can be used to generate both reflection UCT images and acoustic speed images of a suitable target section. The acoustic speed images have been shown to be of sufficient quality to provide high registration accuracy in the equivalent reflection images. The quality of the reflection images so produced is felt to be higher than has so far been achieved by any previous published work in the field of ultrasound CT. These results offer promise for the imaging of suitable in vivo targets such as the adult breast, neck and scrotum and the neonate. Keywords
