Abstract
The arterial vascularisation of the nucleus caudatus is examined in 26 human brains by the combination of X-ray and translucidation techniques. The particular fashion of distribution of the rami striati mediales and laterales in caput and corpus nuclei caudati is described. The cauda nuclei caudati can be divided in a upper vertical part and in a terminal horizontal part. A separate ramus chorioideus runs through the entire length of each part of the cauda nuclei caudati. Small ventriculofugal branches of the rami chorioidei penetrate perpendicularly in corpus and cauda nuclei caudati. The arterial blood supply of the nucleus amygdaleus is assured by the arteriae, cerebri media and chorioidea anterior. Keywords
