Abstract
The subclavian steal syndrome has been reported by many authors in recent years. The exact figures showing the amount of blood that may be stolen from the cerebral circulation have, as far as we know, not yet been reported. In this report we present a haemodynamic study of the subclavian steal syndrome in 9 cases and demonstrate the values of the blood steal from the cerebral circulation through the vertebral artery in case of proximally occluded subclavian artery. Keywords
