Abstract
Since pork from swine fed on uncooked garbage is the chief source of trichinosis in man, effort was made to ascertain the, relationship of municipal garbage disposal methods to the dissemination of this disease. Letters were addressed to health officers in 964 cities of 10,000 population and over, and replies were received from 764. In 403, municipally collected garbage was disposed of in whole or in part by feeding it to swine, and in only 24 was it cooked before its consumption by swine. Keywords
