Abstract
Analysis of the Cr(III) spectrum in Cr3+ doped K3Co(CN)6 crystals indicates a splitting of 49 cm−1. The very weak 0‐0 lines are consistent with a centrosymmetric complex and a magnetic dipole transition. The measured lifetime exceeds 100 msec, greater by a factor of 10 than the lifetime computed from the absorption spectrum.
