Perfectionnement aux compteurs de Geiger-Müller contenant du CO2

Abstract

On décrit un procédé de détection et de dosage commode du carbone radioactif en phase gazeuse (CO2) dans un compteur de Geiger-Müller. En ajoutant au CO2 une faible quantité d'alcool (I cm Hg) et en utilisant un temps de restitution du potentiel d'anode de 2.I0-4~ environ, on obtient des paliers supérieurs à 200 V, même à des taux de comptage de I5 000 impulsions par minute; la stabilité et la fidélité de ces paliers sont bonnes
