Abstract
Studied are numerous issues associated with wavelet transforms in the JPEG-2000 Part-1 standard (i.e., ISO/IEC 15444-1). The dy- namic range of wavelet transform coefficients and computational complexity of wavelet transforms are examined. Also, the effect of wavelet transforms on coding efficienc y is investigated. The information presented herein may prove beneficial to those devel- oping JPEG-2000 codec implementations.Keywords
