Abstract
Using a self‐consistent equation for the diffusion coefficient of vibrational excitations, the potentialwell analogy (PWA) method for studying localization of vibrational excitations in disordered systems is formulated in analogy to the electron problem. Results obtained by the PWA‐method for vibrational systems with mass disorder are in good agreement with numerical data. Keywords
