Abstract
A format for writing individualised educational programmes is described. By requiring specific statements on programme materials. organisation, and presentation, and on both teacher and student behaviours, the format helps those involved in skills training to develop written teaching procedures designed to meet individual students' needs. An example of teaching budgeting skills using the programme format is given. Data is presented showing a young adult attending a Training Centre for the intellectually handicapped learning management of his income as one step towards independent living. Follow up, eight months after completion of the teaching programme. showed this student effectively managing his income using the budgeting procedures taught to him, and living independently with n group of others from his Training Centre. Keywords
