Abstract
We present a time-dependent calculation of electron transport in two-dimensional quantum-wire-based devices: the electron waveguide coupler, the quantum modulated transistor, and a quantum wire with a narrow double constriction. We follow the propagation of electron wave packets through the systems and determine the temporal behavior of the device operation by calculating various time scales. Keywords
