Abstract
Bulk friction of rubber is defined as the friction due to deformation losses. Analytical and experimental investigation of bulk friction showed excellent agreement. The coefficient of bulk friction depends on the geometry of the rough surface and increases linearly with the mean pressure. Friction depends on two dynamic rubber properties, it decreases with increasing dynamic modulus and increases with increasing damping factor. Keywords
