Interaction between the effects of pentobarbital and procaine in mice: the importance of timing in drug addition studies

Abstract
In agreement with a previously suggested common mechanism of action, it was found that intraperitoneal injections of convulsant doses of procaine 10 min after administration of pentobarbital produced a loss of the righting reflex in many mice not affected by the pentobarbital alone. The demonstration of this drug addition is crucially dependent upon the timing of the drug administrations.
