Stationary properties of quasi-one-dimensional variable-thickness bridges

Abstract
The temperature dependence of the characteristic voltage Vc of variable-thickness bridges with identical bank and weak link materials is computed on the basis of the Usadel equations for different values of the bridge length L. It is shown that bridges with L ∼ (4−6) ξ* must be used to achieve the maximal values of Vc and that operation must be in the temperature range T ∼0.5Tc.
