Abstract
The principle of olefin synthesis by two-fold extrusion processes is enunciated. Seven possible systems have been examined, the two most promising involving the extrusion of carbon dioxide and sulphur and of nitrogen and sulphur. A novel system containing azo and lactone functions afforded nitrogen, keten, and ketone instead of nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and olefin. Keywords
