The semi-automatic analysis of compressible flow interferograms

Abstract
A holographic technique was used to produce image-plane interferograms with white light reconstructions of the density field that existed within a two-dimensional transonic cascade. The main thrust of this paper is the detailing of the analysis procedure that was developed to analyse quantitatively the resulting fringe patterns quickly and efficiently to give quantitative data. While the procedure was, strictly, semi-automatic, the degree of operator input was minimised as much as possible.
