Abstract
In developed countries, prevalence is increasing of malignancy-related secondary lymphedema, usually resulting from lymph node resection or irradiation. Untreated lymphedema usually increases over time, and the physical and psychological sequelae in even mild cases demand appropriate diagnosis and treatment. Patients should be referred to a clinic familiar with the treatment of lymphedema, and therapy should be customized to optimize patient compliance. Treatment programs do exist, but clinicians who are unfamiliar with them may find it difficult to determine the best program for individual patients. Currently, most lymphedema clinics favor the use of MLT-CPT for significant lymphedema. Keywords
