The Operculum Syndrome: an Unusual Complication of Tuberculous Meningitis

Abstract
The operculum syndrome, not previously documented as a complication of tuberculous meningitis, is described in a three-year-old African boy. The appearance on CT scan correlates radiographically with anatomical descriptions of the operculum syndrome, and is useful in distinguishing the condition from pseudobulbar palsy. Le syndrome operculaire: complication inhabituelle de la méningite tuberculeuse Le syndrome operculaire, non antérieurement décrit comme complication de la méningite tuberculeuse, est décrit chez un jeune africain de trois ans. Les aspects au scanner correspondent avec les descriptions anatomiques du syndrome operculaire et sont trés utiles pour permettre une distinction avec un déficit de type pseudo-bulbaire. Las imágenes de la TAC se correlacionan con las descripciones anatómicas del sindrome opercular y es útil para distinguir esta patologïa de la parälisis pseudobulbar.
