Finite-size effects in dendritic crystal growth

Abstract
An experimental study of dendritic growth of pivalic acid crystals is performed using cells of various thicknesses. It is found that confinement effects become significant for small values of the Péclet number built on the size of the cell, in good agreement with recent theoretical findings.Keywords
